Peta TitterPeta is our Principal instructor at 3 Degrees Pilates and owner of the studio. Initially completing a Bachelor of nursing through Deakin University in Melbourne in 1994, Peta went on to build an expansive knowledge and skill base, working in Infectious Diseases, Aeromedical retrieval , Coronary care and most recently Adult and Paediatric Intensive Care. Peta built an interest in women’s health and antenatal and postnatal care during her time in the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit where she assisted in intra-uterine surgeries. From here her interest developed, leading her to complete a Graduate Certificate in Continence Management and Promotion in 2010 as well as Pelvic Assessment for Continence Training in 2014. This training developed skills in performing both female and male pelvic examination for continence assessment. Impressively Peta has also, in 2015, completed a Bachelor of Health Science with Honours via research into the understanding of safe exercise during pregnancy and in the postpartum period. This whilst running a Pilates studio!
Such an extensive background in nursing and particularly her more recent work in women’s health has been an incredible base for Peta to excel as a Pilates instructor and educator. First stumbling across the Pilates method in the UK and continuing her practice in Amsterdam, Peta went on to complete her Diploma in Professional Pilates Instruction in 2009 through Aligned For Life Pilates in Melbourne, Victoria. Peta then undertook further training in Pilates for Women’s Health through Polestar in 2009 and completed her Advanced Diploma in 2012 through Pilates International Training Centre in Sydney, NSW. Peta is extremely committed to ongoing professional development and has completed numerous courses. Topics covered in depth have included Pilates for youth and adolescence, diastasis recti recovery, antenatal and postnatal care, pelvic conditions, knee and shoulder rehabilitation, and scoliosis.
Peta also has a passion for teaching and continues to engage in education of both Pilates and Midwifery students alike, as well as fostering knowledge in each and every client. She is very community minded and has always had involvement in various charity work. Already Peta and 3 Degrees Pilates have participated in Donate Life Week, contributed to the Share the Dignity campaign and facilitated fundraising to support 6 Australian teams attend the 2016 International Cadet World Championships in Argentina.
Peta started 3 Degrees Pilates in 2009 and since then has nurtured and developed the business in to the beautiful and reputable studio it is today. She thrives on sharing her immense knowledge and experience around Pilates and health. Peta gets to know each client individually and works hard to see them reach their full potential.
